I need a short but powerful summary of this event in the Cold War.?

I need a description of how Eastern Europeans overthrew Communist rulers and why it is important (it weakened Communism and set the Cold War to a closing path). I know basically what happened but I need a way to word it in 1-3 sentences, but powerfully. Anyone can help?
